Gift Guide for the City Girl

If you're like me, living in the city means always being on the go and always having an event to look forward to. From cringing at that high Uber surge pricing to making sure your #sweatsesh is worth the early wake up, sometimes you need to take some time to R&R.

'Tis the Season for Frosty's Christmas Pop-Up Bar

The weather outside is frightful, but inside Frosty's is so delightful.

December is hands down the best month out of the year. Aside from birthday celebrations and spiked hot chocolate, the best seasonal events come out of hiding for 31 glorious days. Top of the list this year is Frosty's Christmas Pop-Up Bar, located at 809 Evergreen Street. See what they did there?

Featuring three full floors of different Christmas themes, the experience would make even The Grinch himself smile. The middle floor screamed ugly sweater, middle ground featured classic Nutcracker and candy cane decor, and lastly the top floor - my favorite floor - had me dreaming of a white Christmas.

We had chosen to do a 6pm reservation on a Thursday night - highly recommend going at an earlier time as it will only get more packed upon each hour - and purchased the $20 Jingle Bell Rock Package. This package was perfect because it included general admission and two drink tickets. The drink tickets were good for regular mixed drinks and beer - the fun holiday cocktails shown above were a ticket plus a $4 up-charge. I recommend the Kevin MccAllister!

Since it was a seasonal pop-up that my group and I had never been to before, we all had a few questions about the venue. To save you from sifting through Yelp reviews, I have laid out the basics below.

No, there is no food.
You might have to wait in line outside for 10-15 minutes to get in.
There's Pay-for-Park on the nearby streets or $12 valet.
Holiday cocktails are $14. They also have regular mixed cocktails and beer.
General Admission tickets are bought online for a specific day with packages also available.
Reserved tables are available through certain packages.
Coat check is available for $5.
Hours are 6pm-4am.

Already planning for another not so silent night - this time with a reserved table! Check out the festive celebration for yourself by reserving tickets on Frosty's official site!

Happy Holidays

KRā Takes Sports Beverages to a Higher Level (and We're Quenching the View)

Move over Gatorade, there's a new drink in town. Founded right here in Chicago by a mom of four, KRā Organic Sports Drink offers real hydration for a real athlete. In a recent press release, CEO and Founder of KRā, Sarah Hardgrove-Koleno, tells that she "created KRā because she wanted to bring a better-for-you, organic sports drink to the market that's a healthier, tastier and no-junk rehydration option for all athletes."

No-junk is right! KRā has no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives and is the currently the only independent sports drink that uses real ingredients for real flavor. From blueberry to lemon juice, everything is USDA certified.

I was recently had the opportunity to try a few KRā beverages - thanks to KRā Organic Sports Drink and 2 Moms Media, LLC - and tasted for myself the clean, crisp hydration. Over the span of a week, I tried the flavors Berry, Lemon, and Fruit Punch (Berry was my favorite). From a post-workout quench to a commute treat, the the organic drink did not fail to satisfy. I'm most looking forward to packing a KRā bottle in my dance bag and enjoying it during weekly rehearsals!

KRā can be found at your local Treasure Island Foods or Mariano's - find the nearest store here!
