Enchanted 10k 2017 + A Disney Gift Card Giveaway

It's the year of the Beast! This year's Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend was full of expo steals, princess waves, and the best character memories. It was my second year participating in the Enchanted 10k, but the first year purchasing a PhotoPass Memory Maker and running on behalf of Team Autism Speaks.

The additional PhotoPass Memory Maker is something very underrated, yet very worth it. The purchase includes unlimited digital downloads of all photos taken at any of the parks that were scanned with your Magic Band. Needless to say, after visiting all 4 parks we had 100+ images to enjoy. It also included all of our RunDisney race photos!

This year's Expo was nothing sort of great finds. From event apparel and glassware to princess themed water bottles from New Balance, my shopping bag was pretty heavy to say the least! I loved viewing the different vendors supporting the race and all of the attractive apparel to consider for future workouts.

In honor of Disney's new Beauty and the Beast movie, those exiting the Expo had the special treat of taking a photo with the enchanted rose! The Beauty and the Beast theme continued throughout the weekend with my custom stained glass rose Mickey ears (pictured above) and lunch at the Be Our Guest restaurant in Magic Kingdom.

While getting up at the crack of dawn to get on the Magical Express bus to get to our race corral was rough, having the race start and end before the parks open was defiantly worth it. No time was lost exploring! Over the span of four days we covered all four Disney parks plus Universal Studios. I already have my guesses as to what next year's Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend theme will be and can't wait for registration to open for it this summer.

Your RunDisney Race Weekend Must-Have List

It's that time of year again for the most magical race on Earth! RunDisney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend is just around the corner, and I could not be more excited. My first time doing the #Enchanted10k last year was unbelievably fun, however there were some items I wish I had put on my need-to-know list. Read below to prepare for the best RunDisney trip possible!

Race Outfit

This year I'm going classic Princess with a Pocahontas inspired outfit. The look is accessorized with a Flint hummingbird finger puppet, a black sports bra and black running shorts to go underneath, a $3 aqua necklace from Amazon, and teal Nike Flex 2016 running shoes. Make sure to follow RunDisney's costume guidelines and test your race outfit before your trip to avoid annoying, or embarrassing, mishaps.

Tip: Bring a cheap jacket to wear while your waiting for your corral to start. The mornings are cold - even in sunny Florida - so bring something to keep you warm that can easily be thrown along the side of the course. This is common at RunDisney races, they even donate the cast aside items!

Portable Phone Charger

Your phone WILL die during the race before you even reach the parks. Between taking pictures with characters on the course and listening to some Disney classic pump-up jams, your phone battery is going to need some serious voltage before exploring Magic Kingdom or Epcot.

Mickey Ears

A trip to Disney is not complete without a pair of ears (or three). With this year's race weekend being Beauty and the Beast themed, I could not be more excited about my new enchanted rose ears from ToNeverNeverland on Etsy. My pink leopard ears were a gift from Animal Kingdom itself, however you can find the super bedazzled and super awesome pair of ears here.

My Disney Experience App

This app is specific to World Disney World and is a lifesaver for navigating around the park and planning your trip. From managing your dining reservations and Fastpass+ experiences to syncing your MagicBands and park tickets to locating on the map where a specific character is, this app is going to be your best friend during your trip. It can be downloaded in your phone's app store for free.

MagicBands

Once linked in your My Disney Experience app, you can use your MagicBands to enter the parks, access your FastPass+ selections, connect to the Disney PhotoPass Service, enter your Disney Resort Hotel room, and make purchases. If you are staying at a Disney hotel during your trip, you can even customize the color of your MagicBand in your My Disney Experience account to be sent to you before arrival!

Race Expo $$$

Every RunDisney race weekend features an expo at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. It is required to attend the expo to pick up your race number, event shirt, and gEAR bag, however the expo also features a variety of race merchandise and the latest in apparel and fitness equipment. From event jackets to the latest New Balance running shoes, the race expo is something you defiantly something you want to put aside some time, and money, for!

PhotoPass Memory Maker

Purchased before your trip, this additional feature allows unlimited digital downloads of all of your Disney PhotoPass photos taken at the parks, including those taken with characters and on attractions. This is especially worth it if you 1) love to have as many photos as you can when vacationing and 2) visiting most or all of the parks. Since we will be going to all 4 parks this year, the Memory Maker is beyond worth it to be able to download each professional shot captured.
