KRā Takes Sports Beverages to a Higher Level (and We're Quenching the View)

Move over Gatorade, there's a new drink in town. Founded right here in Chicago by a mom of four, KRā Organic Sports Drink offers real hydration for a real athlete. In a recent press release, CEO and Founder of KRā, Sarah Hardgrove-Koleno, tells that she "created KRā because she wanted to bring a better-for-you, organic sports drink to the market that's a healthier, tastier and no-junk rehydration option for all athletes."

No-junk is right! KRā has no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives and is the currently the only independent sports drink that uses real ingredients for real flavor. From blueberry to lemon juice, everything is USDA certified.

I was recently had the opportunity to try a few KRā beverages - thanks to KRā Organic Sports Drink and 2 Moms Media, LLC - and tasted for myself the clean, crisp hydration. Over the span of a week, I tried the flavors Berry, Lemon, and Fruit Punch (Berry was my favorite). From a post-workout quench to a commute treat, the the organic drink did not fail to satisfy. I'm most looking forward to packing a KRā bottle in my dance bag and enjoying it during weekly rehearsals!

KRā can be found at your local Treasure Island Foods or Mariano's - find the nearest store here!

Adidas Spin Art Party Turns Old Art into New

Adidas' recent pop-up event offered a solid post-brunch Sunday activity. Held at the DSW off the Belmont red line, customers were able to channel their creative side and have the chance to win an $100 DSW gift card every hour.

The art (which was originally supposed to be made on custom pedal-powered bikes but the merchandise unfortunately did not arrive on time for Chicago's event) was constructed with a variety of paint on vinyl records. Although some customers walking by were upset that the records were being painted on, the opportunity to paint such a unique item was very relaxing to those that participated!

While I'm no Picasso, my finished product was a hit! I'm hoping to see more Adidas pop-up events around the city this fall, specifically linked to a workout #sweatsesh.

From fitness to painting to fashion, art is good for the soul.

Bellicon Studio Live DJ Friday

Bounced into the weekend with mini-trampoline fun! Located in the West Loop, bellicon Studio pairs their bellicon Bounce - read more about what's involved in my top 10 fitness class post here - with a live DJ for a themed event filled with endless diva tunes and cardio-inducing moves.
This Friday's theme was unicorn, and while many dressed in bright colors, I forgot and sported some new leopard Victoria Sport yoga pants. The 45-minute class, taught by instructor Jeremy, featured a mix of bounce cardio on the bellicon mini-trampolines that worked your legs, core and booty as well as some abs and arm exercises off the trampolines to build strength. DJ Chris Mix brought the party with the perfect mix of songs to get your heart pumping and lip-synching in session.
I very much enjoyed the class and loved the challenge of performing moves on the mini-trampolines. It was fun, energetic, and low-impact on the body's joints. The price for a first-time class, $12, was also perfect for my workout budget. My only wish is that they expand and open more locations around the city!
Wanna get bouncin'? Follow bellicon Studio on Facebook to keep a look out for their next Live DJ Friday event!

7. Yoga Six - Get Elevated: Yoga + Mimosas at Willis Tower || Ever wanted to do yoga in the sky? Thanks to Yoga Six's off-site events at one of Chicago's most iconic landmarks, you can! Namaste under the stars at Adler Planetarium

At the beginning of this month I attended a Sun Salutations Yoga (And Stars Too) event at downtown's Adler's Planetarium.

The one-hour, Vinyasa Flow class was cosmetic. Literally. Taking place in Adler's Grainger Sky Theatre, the planetarium dome featured constellations and live narrative while you hit your Half Moon Pose. The class was for all levels, which was perfect for the mix of new comers and experienced yogis.

Even though the class was early in the morning, the experience was bliss and even included general admission into the planetarium after the event.

Due to these events selling out fast, I highly recommend going to Adler's list of upcoming events and signing up for the next Sun Salutations Yoga (And Stars Too)!

Enchanted 10k 2017 + A Disney Gift Card Giveaway

It's the year of the Beast! This year's Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend was full of expo steals, princess waves, and the best character memories. It was my second year participating in the Enchanted 10k, but the first year purchasing a PhotoPass Memory Maker and running on behalf of Team Autism Speaks.

The additional PhotoPass Memory Maker is something very underrated, yet very worth it. The purchase includes unlimited digital downloads of all photos taken at any of the parks that were scanned with your Magic Band. Needless to say, after visiting all 4 parks we had 100+ images to enjoy. It also included all of our RunDisney race photos!

This year's Expo was nothing sort of great finds. From event apparel and glassware to princess themed water bottles from New Balance, my shopping bag was pretty heavy to say the least! I loved viewing the different vendors supporting the race and all of the attractive apparel to consider for future workouts.

In honor of Disney's new Beauty and the Beast movie, those exiting the Expo had the special treat of taking a photo with the enchanted rose! The Beauty and the Beast theme continued throughout the weekend with my custom stained glass rose Mickey ears (pictured above) and lunch at the Be Our Guest restaurant in Magic Kingdom.

While getting up at the crack of dawn to get on the Magical Express bus to get to our race corral was rough, having the race start and end before the parks open was defiantly worth it. No time was lost exploring! Over the span of four days we covered all four Disney parks plus Universal Studios. I already have my guesses as to what next year's Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend theme will be and can't wait for registration to open for it this summer.

Can't wait until your next Disney vacation to get some new gear? Enter below for your chance to win a $500 Disney gift card, now until April 7th!
