Top 10 Chicago Fitness Classes You Need to Try This Summer

Aside from toasting Frosé at brunch or lounging at Fullerton Beach, summertime Chi brings the perfect opportunity to step outside our work out comfort zone.

The city of Chicago offers a variety of classes to get your heart pumping and your new bikini workin'. To save you the trouble of sorting through them all, however, I have broken them down the perfect top 10 go-to list.

1. TITLE Boxing Club - Boxing 60 || This class is INTENSE, but will have you feeling like a total badass by the end of it. The 60-minute class consists of a 15 minute warm-up, eight 3-minute rounds of combos, and 15 minutes of core work. First timer? The staff at TITLE will help wrap your hands and show you the basic moves before class starts. Better yet, your first class is free!

2. Brunch x Burn - Pop Up Fitness Classes || Created by Chicagoan Kathy Ruda, Brunch X Burn consists of pop up classes around the city with proceeds from the event going towards a selected charity - check out my recap of Brunch X Burn's Breast Cancer Awareness event at Equinox Gold Coast here. Class is followed by treats and goodies while having the opportunity to mingle with fellow fitness gurus. Brunch X Burn's next event will be occurring June 11th at SoulCycle in the Loop!

Moderate dance experience is recommended for this class.

5. Hang 5 Fitness – Surf Blend || Cowabunga! It’s time to take the surf to the city with Hang 5 Fitness’ Surf Blend class. Test your balance and have a blast with 15 minutes of board basics, 15 minutes of cardio blasts, and 15 minutes of strength & strength – all while on a Surfset Riptensity board.

6. Flirty Girl Fitness - Lap Dance || Grab your girlfriends - this non-intimidating class is full of choreography, feeling sexy, and lots of giggles. After working up a sweat, grab a pina colada or tasty margarita at the studios' bar. Fun workout + booze. There's nothing better for a GNO.

Chicago Location: Lincoln Park

7. Yoga Six - Get Elevated: Yoga + Mimosas at Willis Tower || Ever wanted to do yoga in the sky? Thanks to Yoga Six's off-site events at one of Chicago's most iconic landmarks, you can! These workshops sell out very fast, so I recommend securing your ticket and Liking Yoga Six on Facebook to stay updated. Enjoy an all-levels Vinyasa Flow class, pictures, and mimosas 99 floors up on the Skydeck this summer!

Upcoming Events: September 9th, October 14th, November 11th

8. The Barre Code Burn || Classes for this studio are split into three different categories; Cardio, Strength Training, and Restoration. Burn – a heated version of the studio’s classic Barre Code class – is a Strength Training class that gives you a full-body workout in a 95 degrees’ room. I personally love any class held in a heated seating, so Burn is a perfect fit!

Their 30/30 class is the best of both worlds incorporating both barre and pilates into the mix. Tip: Newcomers receive a discount on their first class!
