The Best Workout Hair Hacks

We all face the ever-bearing dilemma of wanting to work out, yet not looking like a sweaty mess for a drink or two afterwards. How do we keep our social life thriving among getting spring break ready?

With the new year came new fitness goals. For me, this meant getting my butt in shape and committing to working out at least 4 times per week. The problem that arose with this, however, was making sure that my hair wasn't damaged or too oily to go out after. Upon trail and error, and tips from eSalon, an at home hair color company, I finally found my three go-to regiments for pre and post workout hair care.

1. Low Impact Hair Style
Whether it's a high bun in hot yoga class or braids on the elliptical, staying away from tight styles has helped lessen the opportunity for greasy creases and damaged strands.

2. Dry Shampoo
Never let anyone tell you that dry shampoo is not a miracle sent down from heaven. A few sprays after a workout covers your slicked back hair with a fresh, dry cover. Due to my dark brown hair, I favor Batiste's Hint of Color Dry Shampoo in Divine Dark. The Hint of Color line is perfect for those with darker hair color, as it doesn't leave any white powder or residue in the roots.

3. Restorative Hair Masks
My new favorite routine? Adding in a hair mask for 3-5 minutes, about 2-3 times a week to repair any damaged, dry hair. This especially comes in handy after the nights that I'm at the dance studio for 3 hours, hair in ponytail, taking an FYD class and learning choreography in rehearsal. My favorite is MoroccanOil's Restorative Hair Mask!

While my top 3 tips have proven themselves successful enough to work into my weekly routine, they are not the only pre and post workout hair hacks. Discover more below!
